By creating and investing significant assets in QRIS, states have acknowledged QRIS as a systemic approach for selling high quality of early childhood and afterschool applications, and it is important to observe the development and implementation of QRIS throughout the nation. More than half the states have implemented QRIS open to child care providers across the state, and the vast majority of the remaining states are piloting or planning QRIS. However, not all states have a QRIS that meets high-quality benchmarks and systemic adjustments take time to implement.
